Monferrato landscape vines

Azienda Agricola BES – Wine producer – Cod. VI018

Bes was founded some years ago thanks to the love for wine. Monferrato is a renowned area of Piedmont (protected area by Unesco as world heritage). It offers the best soils for the cultivation of some varieties of ancient and valuable vines from which precious wines, such as Barbera and Grignolino, are obtained. They are red wines that pair well with the best dishes of Italian and Piedmontese cuisine. Bes has converted the land and vineyards to organic production. Today this small family-run company cultivates 2.5 hectares of vineyards with passion producing high quality wines, respecting nature, with rhythms and purposes very different from large industrial productions. Daniele and Sara Balocco with their children have chosen to live in Monferrato, a hilly area. They work every day for offering  their work to wine lovers, thanks to products obtained from grapes worked in purity and with a lot of passion.

Wine Production

BES is a very small winery located in the gentle hills of Monferrato region, in the municipality of Treville. It consists of 6 hectares of lands of which 2,5 of vineyards. The soil of the vineyard is originated from marine sediments. A limestone, clay, alkaline ground, poor of nourishment that gives to our wines pleasant fruity notes and strong minerality. Thanks to these characteristics, in these lands Barbera and Grignolino wines (typical of Piedmont) represent the flagships. Then Bes decided to produce Syrah, from a vine that has adapted to different climates. In fact, it is widespread from Sicily to Tuscany up to Piedmont.
