Vigneti Valle Roncati – Wine producer – Cod. VI024

Vigneti Valle Roncati is a small producer located in the north west of Italy. The vineyards, owned by a family that have choosen to preserve this heritage of grapes and Italian wines, are mainly in in the municipality of Briona. Those in the municipality of Ghemme and Sizzano are located in hilly positions at about 260 meters above sea level. The vinyards are not far from Lake Maggiore and Lake Orta and the area is facing towards and the Alps. The high plant density ensures low production yields of grapes per plant and the cultivation techniques are aimed at respecting the environment and the quality of the product. The relatively cool and rainy summers allow the vines to make the most of their potential, producing grapes of excellent quality and of a characteristic color, aroma and unique flavor. Here Nebbiolo, the prince of grapes in Piedmont, can give excellent wines. In addition to the bouquet and fragrance that characterize it, is has got an intense and long-lasting colour that is only typical of quality Nebbiolo, famous Italian wine. This precious wine stands alongside other regional vintage varieties such as the Barbera, Vespolina and Uva rara.

Wine Productionitalian red wine bottles in a shop

Much of the work in the vineyards is done by hand, constantly aimed at achieving the best grapes with the right degree of ripeness. The grapes are selected very carefully and numerous bunches are eliminated during the summer until just a few days before the harvest, which is done by hand, in crates, and with a rigorous selection of grapes. The pressing is made immediately after harvesting, in order to maintain the maximum fragrance of the fruit, with aromas typical of this region. Nebbiolo grapes

This small producer choose to have tressled rows of vines and manage the plants with Guyot pruning and constantly planting grass between the rows. The limited size of the company, about 9 hectares, allows us to use the mechanical work alongside a manual management handling of certain sensitive stages (green pruning and thinning out), that are planned under the careful supervision of a consultant agronomist. The production is a delight for winelovers that come here from many part of Europe to see a wonderful landscape and taste amazing Italian wines.
